When did exercise become a punishment for you?
When I share these amazing quotes from others' I usually like to add my take on them, but I think Jenna sums it all up quote well in this statement.
Aside from teaching folks how to rest during exercise (and in life) I also encourage them to play, or rather invite 'playfullness' to come and have a seat at the table.
I believe 'silly joy' is in us all and (for multiple reasons) may have been muffled over the years. During a 1:1 session a couple years back, a client smiled and then laughed.
I couldn't help but ask why- to which they responded:
"I've never known exercise to be fun- and this is really fun."
I love that there are multiple ways to access play through movement and we might not all find the same things "fun" but the EXPLORATION of that- is part of the fun.
How many times can I say 'fun' in a post- HA!
I would love to hear a way that you move your body that invites that 'silly side or playfullness' deep within you.
Mine would be rolling down hills. (I know, are you surprised?) HA!
Thank you for your work @Jennahollenstein
