One of my favorite body weight movements is the plank.

BUT- NOT JUST A PLANK-

I like to add some sort of variation of movement WHILE maintaining a plank position.

👏

Our goal with developing a strong core is so that throughout the day- the core remains ENGAGED while we perform other activities.

🏃‍♀️

Think- bending over, reaching for a cup in the cupboard, picking up your child- 👶

A strong core is essential for all these movements.

— and this is why I try to incorporate functional movements WHILE doing a plank. (Ie. Forearm to hands, forward reach outs, in/our legs, slow mountain climbers) so that my core remain engaged while I perform another movement.
