WE HAVE ARRIVED IN SPOKANE and so far we love it here, but here’s a little backstory on the place we left behind. [side note: if you would like our new address, shoot me a message]
In 2013, Nick and I were newly married and searching online for houses in Washington from our 3rd story apartment in Oklahoma.
We took a flight to the PNW to house hunt and the beautiful souls known as the HUTHBURTS let us stay with them in DuPont while we searched Tacoma, University Place and Spanaway for our new home.
We had about 10 in mind when we took out first “house hunting” trip &
Zero.
Zero.
of them were in DuPont.
But after being there for the weekend, the charm of the city took hold of us and we eventually ended up buying there.
Although I don’t miss the traffic one bit, everything else that consumed my life in that little city changed me for the better.
Moving often, you try and convince yourself not to get “too attached” to locations knowing that you’re not setting down roots anytime soon.
But I couldn’t help it. .
The trails that could be reached by stepping off your front porch, the parks that sprinkled the city like confetti, the rainy days that forced you to get outside
every.
Single.
Day. -->Or else you’d go insane (hahaha!)
-Our first home together, commuting for two years- graduating from PTA school, bringing home meatball for the first time.-So many milestones. .
and the community.
OH THE COMMUNITY. .
NOTHING beats the sense of community that I felt while living in DuPont.
To all my neighbors, thank you for making me a better version of myself - you all have a huge place in my heart and I hope our paths cross again.
