Two things about this post:

1️⃣how I’m continuously blown away by how talented my friends are (this post featuring Dorris & Greg of @gingerandthehuth &

2️⃣how much I value the simple word PLAY.

1️⃣Dorris (the creator of this wood sign and also the mind behind #gingerandthehuth and I became INSTANT bosom buddies when we crossed paths on the softball field in Germany➡️

(you know, because we both are from Oregon, meeting in a foreign country) .

Fast forward 5 years later and she’s letting my husband and I crash in her home for a month and a half until our home closes. .

Now, for anyone who has had guests for over for ---meh-

Over THREE DAYS-

you know this was a test of HER LOVE FOR ME.

I can’t ever thank her family enough for this.

How she put up with me for that long- will forever remain a mystery, but in the time I was there-

I was lucky enough to watch her and her husband begin their journey of woodworking. .

They made tables, installed floors, made stools and doors-then came coasters, puzzles and signs.

and all from TEACHING themselves by books, you tube videos and of course-trial and error.

They never stop.

They never stop learning, growing, pushing the barrier of putting themselves out there and THEY are a huge reason I push myself in the development of my ETSY shop.

I love them both so much and I’m SO inspired how far they’ve come. .

⭐️⭐️They just Re-opened their shop and have this sign amongst many others available⭐️⭐️

AND TWO-

I make these quotes on canvas with TONS of words, and yet sometimes- it’s the simplest of words that sink in the quickest.

PLAY.

It’s really that simple-we must let our children create, play and make messes in order for them to learn how to interact with the world. (HECK! WE HAVE TO MAKE MESSES AND CREATE TOO!)

I want meatball to be a creator, of any sort- because in creating, we have a space that is ours- that we feel needed and like we are making a difference somehow. .

That’s why I LOVE this sign- a simple yet profound reminder that we all need chill out sometimes- and just PLAY.
