Similar to the OUTFIT of the day, I present to you MOVE OF THE DAY.
-
I recorded a few of these prior to surgery, so that I can remember by glory days- ha!
Today’s move is a WEIGHTED REVERSE Lunge with CORE ROTATION:
Hold weight about 2 inches from your chest with elbows out
-
Reverse lunge backward (one leg behind) and make sure your toes are aligned (toes/knees parallel) during the lunge
-
Core is engaged and Upper body remains high (like you have a string from your head to the ceiling)
-
Rotating your core towards the front knee and repeat with the other side.
-
PROGRESSION: Paddle (moving the weight, instead of maintaining it statically) or go into a deeper reverse lunge
MODIFICATION: Decrease the angle of the reverse lunge (not going AS deep) or removing the weight all together.
-
This is one of the moves I use during my client training sessions and we usually do 3 rounds for 45” (varies per client)
-
Hopefully you find this useful and can throw it into your movement mix- Happy day 5 recovery from me!
