When I see my daughter run and jump and roll-
It reminds me how much fun there is in unstructured movement.
-
Dancing is perfectly acceptable in a Zumba class- but if you’re caught dancing in the middle of the treadmill and cross trainer-
You’d probably get some curious stares.
-
How exercise and movement have evolved over the years (decades) interests me.
Group fitness wasn’t an option for my grandmother as a twenty year old-
Nor was strength training something that was scheduled in my great uncles routine.
-
Recalling how free we felt to move in childhood could break down some barriers that we may have with movement today:
This morning, I took a walk down the block- inhaled the fall scents heavily and did some partial squats and pushups when I hit the blocks end.
-
Movement doesn’t have to look the same as your neighbor- you have the choice to make it work for you.
Fitness is for EVERY body.
