Last week, I was chatting with a client about her how much her relationship has evolved (and continues to evolve with movement and nutrition)
-
She kept repeating the statement, “I just want to FEEL good.” amongst other things- and after about the third time, I looked at her and said, “What does that MEAN?
I just want to feel good-
what does ‘FEELING GOOD’ mean to YOU?”
-
And then there was a long pause.
“That’s a good question.”
-
When it comes to movement, food, and LIFE-
what feels good to ME looks completely different than my neighbor,
than the lady next to me at the airport-
than the cashier.

For example,
I know I am in a good head space, when I can practice an absurd amount of patience with my toddler.

I, Jamie, feel good when I am in disagreement when someone and I can judge between, “is this a time that I should practice my listening skills? Or --is this something I should confront in the here and the now?”

Feeling good means that I can eat a bag of chips and step back and ask myself “what was I feeding? My hunger or my pain? (and then when I answer the question, I can practice non-judgement with the answer.)

I love being able to run after a piece of trash that got caught by the wind, so I get it to the nearest bin.

I love when I’m in a place where I can make a friend in need dinner-
gratitude and appreciation help me to feel good. -
But one thing I won’t do-
Is tell YOU what makes YOU feel in a ‘good space’
I have no clue-
Heck, I am figuring MYSELF out day by day-
-
One thing I do want to encourage here,
Is staying curious-
Keep questioning- keep asking- and just because your neighbor LOVES a morning run- does not mean it’s right for you.
My hope is that you have the mental awareness to be in a place where you are able to practice asking yourself, “what makes me feel good…”
