My husband and I saw #avengersendgame last night and it was great! -
He’s more into the series than I am (ie. He can actually name every character and knows the backstory) where as I’m just there for the funny one liner— but it was still super entertaining!
-
This #quote was one that stuck with me though- one that I silently repeated in my head when it was said-
And one that I had to have “stored” somewhere, so I could refer back to it later.
-
It’s odd right? When you read the first line -
“Everyone will fail at who they’re supposed to be...”
-
And you think, wait- isn’t that everyone- aren’t we all supposed to be someone?
-
Then I dove deeper (bc the movie is 3 HOURS LONG! So I had time) and kept thinking-
“But the measure of a person is how well they succeed at being who they are!”
-
Holy crap! That’s SO true-
I have a LONG way to go- but- -
**i USED to think, ‘I should be a better girl and dress nicer and wear my hair more put together***
Then, I thought- wait! WHO is “telling” me this-??
Do I ACTUALLY want this? Or is this magazines, comparison, society telling me this-
-
**i used to be slightly embarrassed of our home decor bc I like to get free stuff, reuse, DIY and our house always looks *NOT* styled.—
Then I thought, wait WHO is “telling” me I have to have a perfectly put together Pinterest home?
-
Duh Pinterest! Hahahaha! But really, threw that one out too.
-
This is one of the things I’m working on right now,
Weighing WHO I am- and what I LOVE/like regardless of others’ opinions-
And who society wants Jamie TO BE.
-
My practice is that I continue to weigh these things:
And be able to answer them honestly.
“Is this what I WANT? Or am I trying to #keepupwiththejones ?
-
So let this be your remind today, to succeed TODAY at being you!
Sound easy enough right? Haha.
-
And yeah, I totally cried in this movie (no surprise there.) anyone else have water works throughout?
