Go big or go home.

I use this phrase on occasion, And often it serves me. But there are other times where I tell it to shut up and to take a backseat.

I have this talk with my clients almost daily —
when we’re doing any exercise.
I always show them the modification and the progression and I say there should be no shame in coming to the modification!
The goal here is that we moved together.
A lot of the times we think it’s either all or nothing, I’m either giving 0% or 100% there is no in between.

When in reality, there is SO
much in between.
So much gray space in between the black and white-so many options for movement between not moving and an all out sprint.

Like I said I don’t hate this mentality, there are times that I scream it- and it pumps me up-But—I am learning to learn to love a different mentality- the one that tells me that ‘moving forward’ sometime means
•Stepping back, resting, napping, modifying etc.

The hundred meter dash is 100 m for a reason. If it were the 26 mile dash– no one would survive. -
Well maybe you Usain Bolt?
So remember, If today, this week or this year you’re not able to “go big or go home” it is 0K there are lots of things in between.
