Book that I finished this am (bc I woke up at 3:30am) 😂🤦🏻♀️
-
The Latte Effect by @davidlbach and John David Mann.
-
My thoughts & takeaways:
-
•super quick read (finished it before meatball was up- and made muffins during a break)
•perfect for people who are striving to improve their financial lingo (he breaks terms down so I could understand them- which is A LOT to say about him - ask my husband) haha!
•IMO - Not for people like my husband (who have a degree in finance and who are leagues ahead of people like me..
•interesting that it’s fiction (told the story of a 27 year old woman who meets a coffee shop friend- Henry- who guides her to reframing her view of how she SPENDS and SAVES.
•reinforces the idea that the way you eat an elephant (one bite at a time) is similar to accumulating wealth-
•Also, I feel like the latte gets vilified in our society. I brew my own coffee - but there are OThER habits that I can improve on, and I liked that he pointed that out- saying that—[if buying a latte everyday brings you an insane amount of joy- okay fine, but inventory all the other waste that you are spending] (my perspective on his words not his exact words..)
-
So, now that I’m done- I’m going to do my FAVORITE thing and send it to someone who comments that they are 1) interested in reading it-
And 2) tells me which they do— spread the cream cheese on their bagel ONE bite at a time- OR spreads the WHOLE half and then eats it.
