When people have a consult with me, and ask me “How often do you think I should train with you?”
-
And my answer often times startles them-
-
“Let’s start with one”
-
and when I choose this answer-
They are taken aback...
-
And here’s my reasoning-
1) I want people to LEARN to enjoy fitness and the benefits this brings over the course of a LIFETIME- so let’s say they are 30 y/0 (they could potentially live for 50+ MORE years-
Going hard 5x/week for 12 weeks MAY not be the best option for THEM.

2) I preach “self awareness” that means that some might start out better with 3x/ week, and some 1x/week... I also touch on the fact that our society says “go big or go home” so it actually MAY be more difficult for some to start out with one-
-
I want them to see how movement can fit into their lives for 70 years- so
I encourage rest breaks & I offer modifications prior to each move- informing them on ways to progress and modify each.

Am I a normal personal trainer? Not really-
But I keep reminding myself that normal is just a setting on a washing machine...
