One thing that has always helped me cope with hardships (and just life in general) is-

HUMOR. (shocking right?)

Laughter (and mostly MAKING people laugh) is the fuel that keeps me a-flame on the daily.

In the past, I mainly used self-deprecating humor,

but now I think I’ve come to a happy balance of making fun of myself- BUT never at the expense of my self esteem.

So, when my cousin Matt told me about a bumper sticker he saw on the freeway one day-

I just knew I HAD TO HAVE it.

And I knew exactly the person for the job-

Linda at @windyhillfarmsoly .

First of all, Windy Hill Farms Oly is NOT just a random “hope it’s catchy” instagram name (cue fitragamuffin-hahaha)

Linda and her family run a farm in Olympia that has been in their family for FOUR-

count them-

FOUR generations.

I don’t even own an antique FORK that my great grandmother had let alone kept a FARM!

I first met Linda’s family when we were invited to a church gathering at our local park-

HER whole family hugged me (which always gives me THE biggest smile)

and they are the type of family that will help anyone/anytime- no questions asked.

In fact, that same night, they left early to help a neighbor move a piano.

(I have moved a piano once- AND ONLY once and do not willingly volunteer for such things-)

She continued to inspire me through her insights at our weekly church gathers-

from parenting advice to how she lives her life with God being her guide.

I love talking to Linda and seeing her family cohesiveness-

their family bond is stronger than the “tips of toe shoes” (her daughter is an extremely talented ballerina, and that just came to mind- so forgive me if that is a poor metaphor) HAHAH!

AND Linda teaches middle school music-

We should all be hugging our teachers ESPECIALLY our MIDDLE SCHOOL ONES! (those were the most awkward years of my LIFE!)

AND---AND (in case you thought I was done) she makes custom vinyl work and custom wood decor for the home. Her work is beautiful, just like everything she creates in life.

If you aren’t already following her shop of IG, she also has a FB page- Windy Hill Farms Oly.

Thank you Linda, for being such an amazing friend.
