“PLAY is the Work of a child”

This comes as little to no surprise being a parent-

with phrases like “let them be little” on my brain- I feel like I’m constantly trying to balance “Let’s sit down and DRILL THE ALPHABET into your head” with “Go wild- put yogurt in your hair, and while you’re at it-RUB some dirt on it”

The thing that this quote reminds me of though- is that it’s NOT only them that need PLAY in their lives. .

We do too.

I love teaching fitness b/c the hour goes by in a flash- I truly feel “in my flow”

But I also love to peel myself away from behind the phone (tryin’ to take a cute pic of her) and just go DOWN the slide with her, RUN with her and fall in the pile ‘o leaves as well as smear peanut butter on my face (when you can’t beat em? Join em?) hahaha

I hope that she sees another side, one that isn’t ridgid- that reminds her that it’s okay to have messy hair, dirt on your clothes and PB on yo’ face-

Because I want her to always incorporate Play into her day- even at 92.
