I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t seen the Netflix series “tidying up with Marie Kondo” yet.
I’ve read books on minimalism AND am a HUGE fan of the “buy nothing” project (community building- “give where you live” FB group)
And I really feel like I’m a mix of both-
I try and first, REDUCE, then REUSE— then lastly recycle-
And whenever I get the “urge” to buy something-
I wait a couple days-
I evaluate if it’s a “need” —food and medications excluded.
BUT, Every time we move and fill a UHaul- I think “oh GROSS- look at all this crap!”
BUT I also like that my house is messy- super colorful-and it feels “lived in” to me- (Or to us)
I think if you getting rid of stuff-GO FOR IT!
—but try and make it intentional- (is there a shelter near you that could use those clothes? Maybe a “help women go back to work” business that would LOVE those 30 purses?
But I’m also in the boat of—(if it makes you cry getting rid of all the stuff- then keep some) it’s OKAY.
I think I’m just a huge fan of, “figure out what works for YOU and do that” type person.
And...
I also like having 6 blankets in the living room for fort building- so sue me. 😂😂😂
