The best compliments that have stuck with me over the years, have nothing to do with my body. -
I will admit that sometimes the easiest compliment to offer up-is the one that is right in front of me-
-
Something about someone’s appearance...
Such as “love that dress!”
“Those shoes are killer” and “your skin is skin is flawless!”
-
But as I dive deeper into the relationships that I hold dear, I try to Go a different route and tell people how their presence, how their ‘being’ And how THEY specifically have made a difference in my life. -
I recently got a reference to a specialty doctor from a woman at an information desk at the mall-
-
I was with @brianna_mccracken (whom I had just met that day) and she asked the woman at the information desk @riverparksquare how her knee was feeling and if anything had been resolved with it by her seeing the doctor.
-
The woman responded joyfully, and said she is no longer walking with a cane, and is SO happy the pain is gone. -
I was curious who she was seeing, as I have been having some knee/hip pain recently.

I went to the doctor in the coming week and found pain relief that I haven’t had for a while.

I could say it was serendipitous that I stumbled upon this reference. -
But that would be ignorant.

I would have never known about this doctor Had Brianna McCracken not been the TYPE of person who listens to the people around her, cares about the people around her and is curious about their life updates. -
If she was the type of person who said “hi how you doing?” And really didn’t care to hear the answer I would not have found pain relief. -
Because of her sincere curiosity & kindness, I was able to find the reference. Thank you Brianna and Nancy for being interested in listening to my story as well.

It’s my hope that when I give compliments—I go a step further into something having to do with that person’s character, because outward appearance is futile.
