2010- First ever Zumba class I taught.
-
Part two of my week-long Zumba tales brings you to teaching my VERY FIRST class. -
It’s hilarious to me that I had a headband here- b/c this was almost a decade ago.
(side note: I loathe hair in my face ESPECIALLY when I work out)
So short of shaving it, headbands are a good option for me. -
TAKEAWAY #2: Friends and family show support in all sorts of ways. -
I had no “zumba wear” starting out-which now, I don’t care too much about-
but back THEN it was a big hit to look like a neon train hit you in the face accompanied with neon pants with strings hanging off of ‘em.
I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. -
My co-worker at the gym (whom I LOVE) brought a couple pairs of pants to work to let me try on. Most of them were “cargo”esqu. And the ones pictured are the ones that I chose.
Ann (my co-worker) was such a support to me (in friendship and in life) but her was of supporting me was not by coming to class (although, if I remember correctly- she came ONCE)
-
Throughout my journey, people have supported this fitness venture of mine in ALL sorts of ways;
Coming to class, promoting the class, sharing and event on social media, telling their aunt about a post I wrote about, sending me random notes in the mail, sending me a business idea or event when they see it- (the list GOES ON)
But it’s important to remember ALL the different ways that people give and receive love (look the same with support)
People show support IN SO MANY ways. -
So here I am, almost ten years later- about to take my neon pants out of retirement-
-
But what never gets old-
Is how thankful I am for all the ways people have helped & supported me.
