Challenge for Dec 29th (and forever)

Let people know the stories of how they have helped/changed/uplifted me--

MORE OFTEN.

A month ago, I received an custom canvas order that was an excerpt from a book-

It read, “We know what the world wants from us.

We know we must decide whether to stay small, quiet, and uncomplicated or allow ourselves to grow as big, loud, and complex as we were made to be.

Every girl must decide whether to be true to herself or true to the world.

Every girl must decide whether to settle for adoration or fight for love.” Glennon Doyle, LOVE WARRIOR

I made various lettering layouts for the buyer to approve.

It was a gift for her sister and I wanted it to be perfect.

After it was completed, I found her on IG (STALKER ALERT) and we became “friends”

She sent me a beautiful message about how much it meant as a gift to her sister-

as well as a picture of her sister lovin’ it. .

She didn’t have to do that-

She didn’t have to tell me how her sister hung it by her door as a daily reminder.

She didn’t have to elaborate on how me making the various layouts helped her process.

And lastly, she for sure didn’t have to take TIME (one of the greatest gifts we all have) out of her day- to write me a message- but she did.

And when I received her message, I started to cry.

Almost instantaneously, it pulled me out from the “funk” I was in-

Her message gave me the mood boost I needed to stop the trash talk ruminating in my head at THAT exact moment. .

Her message reminded me that I have the capability to make small differences in people's’ lives-

It reminded me how (what seems like something so small) can flip a person's’ day around.

I truly believe that we can make HUGE impacts on the people around us-just by doing small or ordinary things.

Sending your friend a text reminding them of a special memory you have with them-

Calling a relative on a random weekday to tell them how grateful you for the time you baked cookies and SPILT ALL THE FLOUR! Or-

Telling the produce person at the store how beautifully THEY stack the apples (real life example)

Trust me, it can make all the difference in the world.
